He dons his pajama uniform, speeds upstairs, cleans up the nightly grime, and keeps watch from his towering bunk bed. This children’s picture book follows Batman and one of his young fans as they prepare for the night with their own rituals. While Batman prepares to take on the villains of Gotham, one young boy prepares for bed. The picture book is adorable both in story and art, taking its visual cues from The New Batman Adventures the book presents a bedtime story perfect for any little girl or boy that loves Batman.
I thought this book was basically the perfect story for sending your kids off to bed with. The book is all about preparing for bedtime, so going through the rituals of the Bat-fan and Batman basically preps your kid to go to bed too. I think that’s a perfect concept for a bedtime story. I really liked the contrasting setup with opposing pages showing both Batman and Bat-fan opposite each other through each step of the process too.
The art was adorable and perfect for fans of the old animated shows. The designs were recognizable and that perfect style for younger fans, nothing too gritty or overly muscle-y. I think the art direction was the best part of the book for me.
Overall, I would highly recommend this book for kids and parents alike.
