This week I’ll once again be taking part in Stacking the Shelves hosted by Tynga’s Reviews. The idea of Stacking the Shelves is to talk about the books you’ve bought, borrowed, etc. and show off and talk about your purchases and borrows. This is basically the perfect feature for me because I buy way more books, and read way more books, than I’ll ever be able to review. I’ll most likely talk about the stores I bought the books at as well, especially if they’re independent stores.
This meme is once monthly for me, where I’ll round up what I’ve gotten since last month’s post.
This month I purchased 8 comics, received 2 books from publishers, 2 books on Edelweiss, 1 book on NetGalley, was gifted 2 books, and borrowed 1 book. Check them out below!
This month I didn’t buy any books as I’m still trying to work through the books I’ve borrowed and bought already. I did pick up 8 comics though.
I bought Prez #4 by Ben Caldwell and Mark Russell. This series is getting really interesting.
I also bought Black Canary #4 by Brenden Fletcher and Pia Guerra. This was an interesting issue with a huge focus on Bo Maeve.
I got Archie #3 by Mark Waid and Fiona Staples. This issue was fantastic and I’m so excited for the upcoming Jughead series.
I decided to pick up the first issue of The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl by Ryan North, Erica Henderson, and Rico Renzi just out of curiosity as well. I’m not sold on this series yet but I’ll probably give it another try.
This month I received 2 books from Random House Canada.
First I received Kitchens of the Great Midwest byJ. Ryan Stradal. This sounds like a great read and has a cute cover.
I also got The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend by Katarina Bivald. This book sounds really interesting and right up my alley so I’m excited for it.
I received 1 book on NetGalley this month.
I received The Infinite Loop by Pierrick Colinet from Diamond Book Distributors. I was not a huge fan of this one, the review will be out sometime next month.
I received 2 books on Edelweiss this month, both from HarperCollins Children.
First I received A Study in Charlotte by Brittany Cavallaro. Sherlock Holmes adaptations appear to be all the rage right now.
And I also received Just My Luck by Cammie McGovern. I’ve liked her other books so I’m interested to read this one too.
During this last month my birthday happened. My boyfriend gave me 2 books for my birthday.
First he bought me Sandman Vol. 1: Preludes and Nocturnes by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth, Mike Dringenberg, and Malcolm Jones III. I’ve wanted to read this series for so long so this was the perfect gift.
He also bought me A Night Divided by Jennifer A. Nielsen which I had mentioned being interested in when I saw it at work. I’m steadily working away at this book.
I borrowed only 1 comic this month because I need to catch up on all those other borrowed books.
I borrowed Grayson Annual #2 by Tim Seeley, Tom King, and Alvaro Martinez Bueno from my boyfriend.
