When a mysterious thief steals the ancient sword Cleo recovered in CLEOPATRA IN SPACE, BOOK ONE: TARGET PRACTICE, Cleo is determined to get it back, but her teachers at Yasiro Academy forbid her from risking her life. Stuck at school, Cleo is having a hard time adjusting to her newfound popularity and responsibility. And when she learns more about the prophecy that names her the savior of the galaxy and the time tablets that could decide her fate, she must go on a dangerous journey to find them before they can fall into the wrong hands. Cleopatra is back in action at Yasiro Academy as a thief enters the school to steal the artifact that Cleo has only just brought back on her last mission. Cleo tries to pursue the thief but is stopped by the teachers at school. She tries to prove her worth in this latest installment of the series by improving her skills and learning more about the prophecy she is meant to fulfill.

You may have read my review of the first Cleopatra in Space book awhile back, and you may remember that I really rather loved it. I have to say the series has continued on in great form, with continued fantastic art and a good plot. I am really happy to have read the next book and am anticipating more awesome installments in the future.

This book focuses less on action and more on the developments of Cleo’s character and the prophecy that would be needed to move into the next book. Sounds a bit like filler…I know…but it’s really not! This is all really necessary development. We see Cleo having to face her weaknesses, become closer with her friends, and prove her worth. Then we learn more about the prophecy about Cleo and this leads into the end of the book, which leaves off just before the action that will likely be all of Book Three. I think this just makes me anticipate further action even more.

The art and characters are as wonderful as they were in the previous book. I can’t really comment much without being repetitive in this case. I think it’s a solid sequel which continues on with some great action, art, and characters!

Ramble on,
Kimber
