The Romans have long since departed, and Britain is steadily declining into ruin. But at least the wars that once ravaged the country have ceased.

The Buried Giant
begins as a couple, Axl and Beatrice, set off across a troubled land of mist and rain in the hope of finding a son they have not seen for years. They expect to face many hazards—some strange and other-worldly—but they cannot yet foresee how their journey will reveal to them dark and forgotten corners of their love for one another. Yes, I know this book was released last week. I know. This WoW is more for the fact that this weekend I will be meeting Kazuo Ishiguro. I am so excited and nervous about this. I am also really excited to read the book of course, I recently read another of his books to prepare myself for meeting him and am only made more nervous by how amazing his writing is. I’ve been a fan of Ishiguro’s for years now and I am just so thrilled and thankful to Random House of Canada for providing me with this opportunity.

I’ll maybe blog about the reception as I did when I met Gayle Forman and Jamie Blackley.

Ramble on,

What book are you looking forward to? Let me know in the comments!

    1. I’m actually really nervous to read it to, I know it’s a little different than his previous work as it’s more of a fantasy book, but I think it’s also really exciting. I’m so exciting to meet him this weekend too!! Thanks for stopping by!
